Lou Reed

Lou Reed — aka Lewis Allan Reed (March 2, 1942 — Oct. 27, 2013) — was an American singer, musician, and songwriter from Brooklyn who gained cult status fronting the Velvet Underground between 1965 and 1970. As a solo artist, he issued six studio albums and two live discs on RCA Victor between 1972 and 1975, followed by four albums apiece on Arista and RCA during the ensuing 11-year period.
