The Artwoods

The Artwoods were an English R&B/beat quintet that was active from 1963 to 1967. The band issued numerous singles, two EPs, and one proper album.

Members: Art Wood (vocals), Derek Griffiths (guitar), Jon Lord (keyboards), Malcolm Pool (bass), Keef Hartley (drums, 1963-67), Colin Martin (drums, 1967)

Fronted by vocalist Art Wood — whose younger brother Ronnie concurrently played guitar in The Birds (UK) and would later join Faces and ultimately The Rolling Stones — the band contained future Deep Purple organist Jon Lord and drummer Keef Hartley, who would later front his own homonymous big-band/rock ensemble between 1969 and 1973.
