Adrian Belew

Adrian Belew — aka Robert Steven Belew (born Dec. 23, 1949) — is an American art-rock guitarist and composer from Covington, Ken., who emerged in the late 1970s as a backing player for David Bowie (Stage, Lodger) and Frank Zappa (Sheik Yerbouti). After his involvement in the Talking Heads album Remain in Light and related side projects, Belew became part of the reformed King Crimson, playing on the 1981–84 albums Discipline, Beat, and Three of a Perfect Pair. As a solo artist, he released three albums on Island between 1982 and 1986, followed by a trio of titles on Atlantic between 1989 and 1992.
