Sam Rivers

Sam Rivers (Sept. 25, 1923 — Dec. 26, 2011) was an American avant-jazz multi-reedist and pianist from El Reno, Okla., who released three albums as a bandleader on Blue Note between 1964 and 1967, followed by titles on Impulse!, Red Record, and other labels during the 1970s.
