Monsoon

Monsoon were an English-Indian ethno/art-pop band that issued an eponymous EP on self-press Indipop in 1981. A flurry of singles followed on the Mobile Suit Corporation label, a subsidiary of Phonogram, in 1982. Most of the a-sides appeared on the album Third Eye, issued by the sublabel in 1983. Vocalist Sheila Chandra recorded nine solo albums during the ensuing 12-year period. Keyboardist/songwriter Steve Coe had earlier played in the pop-psych band Complex, which issued two albums at the dawn of the 1970s.
