Mike Heron

Mike Heron is a Scottish singer and songwriter, best known as the co-founder and mastermind of the Incredible String Band. While still a member of ISB, he debuted as a solo artist with the 1971 release Smiling Men With Bad Reputations. His 1977 album Diamond of Dreams features two songs (“Don’t Kill It Carol,” “Stranded In Iowa”) later covered by Manfred Mann’s Earth Band.


He was born James Michael Heron on December 12, 1942, in Glasgow.
