Joe Farrell — aka Joseph Carl Firrantello (Dec. 16, 1937 — Jan. 10, 1986) — was an American woodwind player from Chicago Heights, Ill., who was a founding member of Return to Forever, playing on the band’s 1972 albums Return to Forever and Light as a Feather and returning for 1977’s Musicmagic.
