Eumir Deodato de Almeida (born June 22, 1943) is a Brazilian composer, arranger, and producer with a musical career dating back to 1960. During the 1970s, he released more than 15 albums on CTI, MCA, Mercury, and other labels. Between 1979 and 1982, he handled production chores for Kool & the Gang, guiding the band to its successful soul-pop phase with vocalist James J.T. Taylor.
