Ronnie Montrose

Ronnie Montrose (Nov. 29, 1947 — March 3, 2012) was an American guitarist who recorded four albums with namesake hard-rockers Montrose between 1973 and 1976. After debuting as a solo artist with the 1978 Warner Bros. release Open Fire, he cut three numerically titled albums with Gamma between 1979 and 1982. He resumed his solo career with the 1986 Passport Jazz release Territory, followed by six further titles on assorted labels during the late ’80s and ’90s.
