Pilot formed in London in 1971 when two ex-members of American hard-rockers Blues Cheer, Bruce Stephens and Leigh Stephens (no relation), teamed with two members of Rod Stewart‘s backing band: guitarist Martin Quittenton and journeyman blues-rock drummer Mick Waller.
