Hedzoleh Soundz

Hedzoleh Soundz were a Ghanaian highlife/Afrobeat band that was active during the late 1960s and early ’70s. In 1973, the band debuted as a backing act to South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela on an album for Blue Thumb Records. The band released their own album, simply titled Hedzoleh, on EMI later that same year. Guitarist Jagger Botchway would also play for the Kelenkye Band.

Members: Stanley Kwesi Todd (bass), Jagger Botchway (guitar), Hammond (congas, flute), Morton (congas), Asante (drum kit), “Big Black” (congas)
