Johnnie Taylor

Johnnie Taylor (May 5, 1934 — May 31, 2000) was an American soul singer from Crawfordsville, Ark., who issued a string of singles on SAR and Derby between 1961 and 1964, followed by a run of seven albums and assorted shortplayers on Stax between 1966 and 1974. His next round of longplayers appeared on Columbia between 1976 and 1980, followed by a stream of titles over the next two decades on Malaco Records.
