Giorgio Moroder (born April 26, 1940) is an Italian composer, producer, and arranger who recorded three albums with accompanying singles for Hansa and Philips between 1969 and 1973. He is most famous for his working relationship with soul singer Donna Summer, whose 1976–81 output he co-produced with Pete Bellotte. Other artists that Moroder has produced include Apocalypse, Roberta Kelly, Blondie, and Sparks.
Between 1976 and 1979, Moroder cut a series of electro-funk and soundtrack albums for Oasis and Casablanca. During the 1980s, he recorded soundtracks for the motion pictures American Gigolo and Cat People and also made a collaborative album with Human League vocalist Philip Oakey.
