Emperor was an American hard-rock/AOR band from Long Beach, California, that released a self-titled album on Private Stock in 1977. The existed for 20 years, starting as The Emperors, which issued four local-press garage rock singles during the mid-1960s.

Members: Steve Watts (vocals, drums, keyboards), Joe Marques (bass, guitar, vocals), Joe Alexander (guitar), Mike Lobett (keyboards), Randy Budihas (drums, vocals), Joe Deleski (guitar), John Shelley (bass), Mark Zavatsky (keyboards), Chip Walsh (keyboards, harmonica, vocals), Dave Quintana (guitar, vocals)

The roots of Emperor date to 1962, when drummer, keyboardist, and singer Steve Watts formed The Emperors with several high school friends.
