Burning Spear

Burning Spear — aka Winston Rodney (born March 1, 1948) — is a Jamaican dub/roots-reggae artist who issued a round of singles on Bamboo and Studio One between 1969 and 1971, followed by a debut album on Coxsone in 1972. Signed to Island Records, he released the popular Marcus Garvey album in 1975, followed by three further titles on the label in 1976 and 1977. Another round of titles appeared on his namesake self-press between 1978 and 1982.
