Carpenters

The Carpenters were the American pop duo of pianist/vocalist Richard Carpenter (born Oct. 15, 1946) and his vocalist/drummer sister Karen Carpenter (March 2, 1950 — Feb. 4, 1983). The two were born and raised in New Haven, Conn., and relocated as teenagers to Downey, Calif. Between 1969 and 1983, the pair released 11 albums on A&M.
