Hackamore Brick

Hackamore Brick was an American band from Brooklyn that released the album One Kiss Leads to Another on Kama Sutra in 1970.

Members: Chick Newman (vocals, piano, guitar), Robbie Biegel, Bob Roman, Tommy Moonlight (vocals, piano, guitar)

Hackamore Brick formed when Chick Newman, who played Farfisa organ in a garage band in the Canarsie neighborhood of Brooklyn, met musician Tommy Moonlight. They hired Robbie Biegel, a renown local drummer; and Bob Roman, a bassist from the lower east side of Manhattan. Rehearsals commenced in Park Slope in northwest Brooklyn.

The band cut a demo tape at the Record Plant on West 44th St. and sent it to Kama Sutra, a NY-based pop, psych, and soul label distributed by Buddah. Impressed, Kama signed Hackamore Brick and booked them time at Bell Sound Studio on West 54th St. in September 1970.
