Pookah

Pookah was an American psychedelic rock trio that released a self-titled album in 1970 on United Artists.

Members: Pat Cupo (keyboards), John Ippolito (bass, guitar), Dave Ranaletta (drums, percussion)

Pookah emerged in 1969 and released their single “Blue and Peaceful” (b/w “Merlin’s Party”) late that year on United Artists. On December 26–27, they opened shows at Philly’s Electric Factory for Cold Blood and the Grand Funk Railroad, both with fellow openers The American Dream, whose 1970 Ampex–Bearsville release marked the production debut of Todd Rundgren.
