I Signori Della Galassia were an Italian electro/space-funk band behind the 1978 album Qualcosa Si Crea, Nulla Si Distrugge on Magic Record, followed by the 1979 Rifi release Iceman.
Members: Franco Delfino (keyboards, vocals), Gigi Mosello (keyboards, vocals), Manuel Gustavino (guitar), Bruno Govone (guitar), Sergio Babboni (bass), Beppe Aleo (drums)
Background
I Signori della Galassia (The Lords of the Galaxy) formed in 1978 in Savona when keyboardist Franco Delfino developed a recording project from Le Volpi Blu with singer-guitarist Manuel Guastavino and keyboardist Luigi “Gigi” Mosello. The three musicians appeared beforehand with Le Volpi Blu at the 1975 Sanremo Festival with “Senza impegno.”
Delfino also composed and arranged outside the group under the name Caw. He recorded the library album New Group for Giorgio Oddoini’s Bang!! Bang!! label and cut “Electronic System” with composer Giuseppe Damele for Golden Record.
Delfino added bassist Sergio Babboni, drummer Beppe Aleo, and guitarists Bruno Govone and Paolo Marcelli. Aleo came from Savona group Il Sigillo di Horus, which won a RAI contest in 1975 and recorded demo material at SAAR that July. I Signori della Galassia issued “Creazione” (b/w “Terza fila”) on Bang!! Bang!! in 1978 through a small pressing prepared for a RAI broadcast. Magic Record then commissioned the group to record Qualcosa si crea, nulla si distrugge, with label-selected songs and a smaller set of Delfino originals.

- Giosuè Impellizzeri / Decadance — Franco Delfino interview and I Signori della Galassia history. Delfino says he created the group as a recording project driven by his interest in synthesizers. He describes it as an offshoot of Le Volpi Blu, identifies Guastavino, Mosello, Aleo, Govone, Babboni, and Marcelli, discusses his Caw work, and states that the first LP was commissioned with songs selected by the record company. The article dates the group debut and first 7-inch to 1978. (Decadance)
