Brilliant! How come this band were not at the forefront of prog rock? Amazing band.
While not being in any way innovative, this recording is a solid fusion effort from some of the elite Dutch musicians at the time (e.g. check Rob van den Broeck’s work with another great Dutch group “Third Eye”).
It bears many similarities with the music created by Weather Report and Passport in mid 70s, however while showing much professionalism, it does not have the spark of those seminal groups.
That being said, Napalis’ unique album issued in the Netherlands is very well produced and stands out as a proud gem of the jazz-rock genre. [**** out of 5]
